Re: Randomness
If the space station is built properly you'd be "glued" to the floor, as usual.

Re: Randomness
Define "properly built" please.

Re: Randomness
You're going to be "glued" to the floor by centrifugal force (please, no arguments on centripetal vs centrifugal) the same way you'd be "glued" to the floor by gravity. In a rotating space ship or space station, as long as the force is not too high (let's just say less than or equal to 1 gravity) you would just walk around normally. The construction would have the floor facing "out" so that you're pushed again it. Now, if you managed to spin fast enough to get the force up to 3 or 4 gravities, it would be very difficult to move.

Re: Randomness
You're no more glued to the walls than you are glued to the planet. You just have to balance the forces.
Given the size, though, I would think you'd constantly have the impression that you're on a slope. (And you would in fact be on a slope, wouldn't you, unless your ship gets so large it has its own horizon? That's one thing that puzzled me about Defying Gravity, which did use that model for their ship.)

Re: Randomness
To be fair, glue is one solution to the lack of gravity. If the astronauts found themselves sticking to every flat surface, I imagine that would give them a pretty strenuous workout that would counteract the harmful effects of a free fall environment. But it might get a bit messy.

Re: Randomness
Your friendly neighborhood cheat.
Some years ago I had read that if one bought medication in a pill form from a pharmacy, especially one in a supermarket or something like Target or Walmart, to check the count as you might be being shorted by ten pills. So, the next time I bought medication in pill form I started to count the pills before leaving the counter. sure enough the pharmacest handed over ten pills before I had half finished. sure was an eye opener for me.
These days I noticed that some supermarkets advertise a special of a lower price for an item on sale. However, if you don't watch when yu check out the item will ring up at the regular price instead of the sale price. That can add up on our bill.
My wife watches like a hawk but I don't. She goes over the bill like Sherlock Holmes and always finds something. Getting it corrected by the supermarket once you have left the stores is a bear.
There are other little sneaky things that are done too.
Seems that honesty is no longer the best policy these days.

Re: Randomness
The other possible reason for the pharmacist's response is the fact that he would very likely be willing to do anything to prevent you from standing at his counter in full view of his customers counting out pills, including giving out 10 free ones...
I'm just sayin'....

Re: Randomness
No, Dis, I counted the pills without the ten he handed me. I was short exactly ten pills. He may have wanted me to move but not because I was holding up the line. I was about to expose him.
I used to get pills sent to me by a mail order company. I noticed a number of half pills in the bottle. when those pills passed the counter they were shown to be whole pills. However, over a period of time those half pills added up to several bottles. given te price of the pills that extended a profit margin.
I can see an honest mistake but not when there has been a warning published that it is happening.

Re: Randomness
I'm not sure if I mentioned it or not, but if all goes according to plan (barring hurricanes and whatnot) I'll be going across the pond on Thursday to visit a friend for a week. He lives in Washington, or rather Alexandria, VA. So I guess I'll get a taste of the election as well.
On an entirely different matter, I'm going to scrap my old car, which has given up on me and isn't worth fixing. Lucky for me I already have another car.

A swing state in the last week of the election? You'll get more than a taste.
Safe travels, and hopefully the power will be on when you get there...
