A deadline that just cannot be ignored!

A trip to Poland I took with a friend in 1988 or 1987. All sorts of things happened.
First we decided to fly from Poznan to Warsaw since it was dirt cheap (this was back in the commie days where the monetary exchange was very generous, especially if you used the black market). It was on a horrible old propeller aircraft that seemed to be held together by duct tape. In the back there were two beefy military policemen with giant revolvers in their holsters (this was just after someone had hijacked a plane and made it fly west). We were served caramels on a tray by an older stewardess with way too much makeup who probably thought she was 20 years younger than she actually was.
Then when we arrived in Warsaw there were absolutely no hotel rooms to be found anywhere. So we had to make due with renting a cabin at a camping site. After a late night we found out that they locked the gates early and we didn't have a key to the gate so we had to climb over the high fence. Thank God no one spotted us.
Getting back from Warsaw we decided to take the train. But there were no seats left, so we had to sit on our luggage at the end of one of the carriages. There the toilet door couldn't close properly and this was the dirtiest toilet you could ever imagine. Some had taken a dump, but it had fallen on the ring and not inside (he probably didn't want to actually sit on the toilet for obvious reasons, but then his aim wasn't that good).
There is more, but I think you get the general idea... Today we can laugh at it!
