Scrubby flatwoods:

More commonly, driving across the center and northern part of the state, you're in pine flatwoods:

mixed with cow pasture... Florida is actually major cattle ranching state.

I used to go to Stuart, Florida (Atlantic side, 80 miles north of West Palm) when my parents were still alive. And I still visit Tallahassee where my sister now lives. I love the hanging moss there. But in general, the Florida humidity makes me wilt. In winter, the humidity is down somewhat so it is tolerable. But I could never live there. I love the Great Lakes region.

The two times I have been to Florida I have to say I was not all that impressed. Both times it was clod and rainy more often than not, and I had traumatic experiences both times. The first time we finally went to Orlando and did the tourist thing, Disney, Epcot, Cyprus Gardens... I loved Cyprus gardens, until my sis and I got into an argument on a hill and she let my wheel-chair go! Well down I went at full Warp 9 with my father running after me, I couldn't stop it myself because the velocity would have ripped my hands off. Well he caught me just as I was about to tip into the gator hole. LOVELY DAY! But it was still one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The second time, we went to see my great-grandmother who lives in New Port Richie, again cold and rainy. And that was the worst vacation ever! Talk about family strife, I still have nightmares.

I'd probably choose the Great Lakes region over Florida too. I don't much care for heat and humidity anymore -- I get excema if I'm in the sun for too long -- and when Florida is cold, which it sure can be, it's really bone-chillingly cold --because the buildings aren't insulated well and nobody wears gloves or hats. If it ain't having a drought, it's having tornadoes and hurricanes and fires, all the nuts and conmen and miscellaneous criminals like to roll down there for the winter, many of the South American mobsters do their banking and money laundering there, and if you want to enjoy regular booms and busts fueled by fraud and speculation, it's sure to be at the leading edge of any economic chicanery. Not to mention that ever since they passed term limits, the state government has belonged to the lobbyists because they're the only ones who know how to write legislation. And if global warming heats up half of it will be underwater.

But hey, other than that, it's a great place. LOL. I do love it, honestly, but I can see how it's an aquired taste.

And Jeezum crow, WarpGirl, you certainly had vacations from hell there. One of these days you need to pick a nice spot not in the middle of winter (spring or fall are best) and go without your family and have a good time.

hahaha In my sister's defense she didn't mean to let go. She was trying to make gestures while yelling at me. She was devastated when she realized I was in trouble. As for my great-grandmother she's banned us. Let's just say that two girls one 16 (me) and one 15 (sis) didn't want to be told what races we WERE NOT allowed to pick our potential life-partners from. That caused an explosion of Sicilian wrath. I probably won't be going back in the near future, she hates us even after 9 years. I'd love to go to Miami just for the food!

Boy is this OT. So "Harbinger" huh... Anything else happen of importance besides T'Pol taking off her robe, and breaking Trip's heart the next day?

Wow, Alelou, more about the bad side of Florida than I knew! And I forgot one other thing I dislike: alligators. My parents saw one on their golf course. Bad enough they are in the water! :? And me too...other than all that, Florida is okay for a visit.

Aside from this?

No, not much, just Trip kissing Amanda Cole in the beginning of the episode and then T'Pol trying to break her neck. Not much, you know :D

Well to each his own. Frankly I'm just finishing the first season and my mama says I'm obsessed with the "Drugs, one-night-stands, murdered babies, illogical break-up's, and, *the_abomination*." And apparently I need to let it go. I think she should read what some people here think, I'm bloody normal! 8)

Well, I for one like this episode. I like that Trip and T'Pol have their weaknesses and and faults. I like their misguided attempts to get what they want, and in the process of, they screw it up for themselves. They find out the hard way that jealousy is a powerful motivator. I'm okay with that.

BTW - Jolene does a really good faking taking a punch to the jaw like that - extremely realistic looking. And it's all her, too, ou can tell, no stunt woman on that one!

I don't mind flaws really I do I get that this stuff happens. I just think the formula (for lack of a better term) is overused. I mean come on does it always have to be screw-ups because someone jumps into bed and than has an OMG! 'What have I done?' moment, enter much angst? Try something new for God's sake! Frankly it's boring. :?
