The horrible speller that I am, I kept spelling his name that way when he first ran. I would be IMing. Anyway, he looks Irish to me, lol . . .
Funny story, in fourth grade my twins, who are half black and half white, had a school assignment were they had write a poem about their ethnic background. There was a template, and it was about a black ethnicity: Something like, "I am Rosa Parks, sitting at the front of the bus. I am Jackie Robinson hitting a ball out of the ballpark" That was the template.
Well, I knew nothing about this, so at the end of the year the twins bring home their separate poems with their pictures stapled on them. Well, I had one, "I am Rosa Parks, I am Jackie Robinson" poem and one "I am the little boy kissing the Blarney stone" poem, lol . . . And it ended proudly, "My mother's great-grandfather was a real Irishman who came over from Ireland to make a new life" or something, something I didn't even know he knew, lol . . . I said, "Chris, how did know know all this stuff about Ireland?" He says, when we told the teachers our ethnicity, they divided us up into groups, so I was working with T. Fitzgerald (who was a little red-headed boy). And Chris at the time had this gigantic afro. I really give the school credit, because apparently noone batted an eye when he announced he was Irish or ever questioned it.
I'm donating my body to science fiction.
