Not sure where to put this so I am going to put it here.

1st off.....don't listen to the critics.

If you like the movie's Legend, Princess Bride, *insert and other fantasy film here* go see StarDust.

I actually really was quite surprised and really liked it.

But than again I'm a sentimental fool I guess.

Damn this zoo is crazy. :? :? So like this morning Hamster wanted to use the bathroom, and like before she went in my friend asked her if she could just get the blow dryer. And Hamster starts like shoving and hitting her like nasty physical fight tore her clothes and all, then my friend started to cry and went to the manager, in the meantime Hamster called 911 she wanted to get the cops to kick my friend out, then the cops show up and there's my friend and the manager like telling them what happened etc and Hamster ended up getting moved to another room. Why the frell is she still here though I have no clue :? :? :? :? :? but at least she's not in my room anymore :D

I'm back from vacation! And I'm glad. Waves were great, but I've had enouph fun . . . and I missed you guys. (Had to run to the Internet cafe a couple of times to get my fix--so you may have not noticed I was "gone.")
I'm donating my body to science fiction.

Sigh, got through one of the classes in straw weaving that me, my daughter, and grandaughter are teaching at Irish Fest Summer School in Milwaukee. Had 9 adult students and they all finished their weavings and were happy with them! One class down. Friday we get to teach 22 (or more) children. I hope some parents stay to help the kids in the class and not consider it a baby sitting thing. After that is over, we get to listen to all kinds of Celtic music on Saturday at the festival!

Then a few weeks break.

Then Indian Summer Festival and we will be working at that too. The kids will be dancing at the festival's pow wow. Then we spend the evenings listening to music groups from the Native American community.

It is interesting that the worlds largest Irish festival and worlds largest Native American festival are on the same festival grounds almost back-to-back. Well, got all our ethnic stuff covered for this summer, LOL.

Sounds like fun!

It's way too hot to do outdoor festivals this time of year down here in Louisiana, though. Before we had a rainstorm yesterday the heat index was up to 110 degrees. Time to get ready for all the Freshman heat exhaustion patients once college classes start next week. We get a whole slew of 'em every year just from all the northerners walking around campus and not drinking enough water. :?

I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't laugh, but that was hilarious! Must be very therapeutic to have made these South Park zoomates.

110 degrees? Arg! But it must be really nice on your campus during the winter, right?

We are having temperatures in the upper 80s and that is way too hot for me, especially with the humidity. It just saps my energy, but a lot of the festival stuff here is under tents. And in the evening. The straw weaving classes are actually in a classroom at the university where I work instead of at the festival grounds. The Irish Fest Summer School is during the week before the actual festival - things like bodhran, fiddle, step dancing, Irish knitting, Celtic history, and literature classes. It is convenient for me to teach the wheat weaving classes in the student union meeting rooms. I just emerge from my IT job in the Data Center in the basement of the Engineering building for a couple of hours and then return to it after I clean up all the straw left on the floor after my class!

If I could find an envy/covet smilie I would put it in right here-- that sounds like a lot of fun. I'd love to take an Irish step dancing class (though, like I told T'Sara, I could never move my feet as fast as she can when she highland dances!).

I just got back from an overnight business trip to Detroit and am trying to kill some time before having to head back into the office. I have miserable motion sickness and Detroit, for some reason makes it worse. Terminal B shakes (probably from the train), and the flight is always a tiny little plane.

But I did manage to drive past the Dream Cruise in Royal Oak last night and that was wonderful. Antique and historic cars everywhere. I'm torn between cars with '40s styling, a '70's caddy with fins, and the beeeee-utiful chargers and mustangs from the '50s and '60s.
